Anti-covid measures for the restart

Carnival working with Bureau Veritas

by Port News Editorial Staff

The classification society BUREAU Veritas has been commissioned by cruise operator Carnival to certify the company’s ability to mitigate and manage the risks of spreading infectious diseases among passengers. An initiative clearly designed for restarting cruise activities.

Carnival has a fleet of 87 cruise ships calling at 700 ports around the world. Bureau Veritas will verify the anti-Covid protocols and procedures Carnival has put in place for its ships.

The French classification society will start inspecting the vessels of three of the brand’s member companies: Cunard, P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises, which will resume operations in mid-May, from Southampton, under the Carnival UK banner.
