In a newspaper interview with Il Tirreno, North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority & Darsena Europa Special Commissioner, Luciano Guerrieri, said that ARPAT (Tuscany’s Environmental Protection Agency) had formalized its opinion on April 8th.
“Now we have the monitoring plan attached to the project ready for approval,” he told journalist Giulio Corsi. ‘“Our commission staff has already prepared the draft resolution, which needs to be approved by Tuscany Regional Administration. We are currently working on the definitive version.”
Mr. Guerrieri said that the offshore construction work could begin by the end of April. “If our regional council approves the project, from 18th April we could start working on a date for laying the foundation stone. It could be Monday 28th April. In the meantime, our Harbour Authority is working on preparing the ordinance to regulate the work at sea: This week we have to inform them when exactly the work is set to begin,” he added.
