Dp World after business in Israel

by Port News Editorial Staff

The port operator Dp World and Dubai Customs have signed a series of agreements with the Israeli company DoverTower to explore new business opportunities.

In particular, the parties have agreed to assess the development potential of Israeli ports and free zones; to establish a direct shipping line between the port of Eilat, on the Red Sea, and the Emirate port of Jebel Ali; and to promote and facilitate trade relations between the two countries.

The agreements were signed by Dp World CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem and Shlomi Fogel, co-owner of Israel Shipyards, which DoverTower is part of.

On the occasion of the signing of the agreement Shlomi Fogel announced that DP World and Israel Shipyards will also set up a joint venture that will compete in the tender for the privatization of the Israeli port of Haifa.
