Anti-Covid Initiative

Government helps Buenos Aires port

by Port News Editorial Staff

A 24-month extension of maritime state concessions that have expired or are due to expire in Buenos Aires’ port terminals.

This is the solution that the Argentine Ministry of Transport and the General Administration of Ports have devised to allow the nation’s main port of call to climb back up the slope again and weather the Covid storm.

The port is divided into three different operational areas: Porto Nuevo, dedicated to container handling; Dock Sur, a multipurpose area for containers, dry and liquid bulk; Puerto Sur, dedicated to ferry passengers and dry bulk.
