HMM orders nine containerships

HMM has signed newbuilding contracts with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and HJ Shipbuilding and Construction for nine 9,000 TEU boxships with dual-fuel methanol engines.

Under the agreement, HSHI is to build seven ships and HJSC two. The contracts are worth a total of 1.12 billion dollars.

The vessels are due to be delivered between 2025 and 2026. They  will be used on the Asia-North/Latin America and Asia-India trade routes.
