Heading towards doubling the MK warehouse

The Port of Livorno bets on wood pulp

by Port News Editorial Staff

The call for tenders for the contract allocating both the executive design and construction of the enlarged wood pulp storage warehouse in Livorno port’s M+K area has been sent to the European Union, for publication in the Official Journal of the European Union

In particular, what is required is the creation of a replica of the existing facility, 20 meters away, so that the two sides of the sheds can be accessed from a central corridor.

This project will increase the current warehouse’s cellulose storage capacity, by doubling its 10 thousand square meter surface area. Part of the contract also involves the construction of office spaces attached to the shed and the steel roofing of the access corridor.

The contract is worth a total of approximately €9 million. 180 consecutive calendar days have been allocated for the project design phase and reclamation work. While 395 days have been assigned for building the new facility, starting from the date of the works delivery minutes.

Tenders from interested parties must be submitted by 11th December 2020 (12.00 noon).
