Maersk funds Australian startup

by Port News Editorial Staff

Maersk leads the digital revolution, even in Australia. Through its venture company Maersk Growth, the Danish giant, together with the investor Global Founders Capital, will finance the activities of the Sydney start-up, Ofload.

A total of $2 million will be provided to implement the digital platform that the Australian company created in February 2020 with the objective of “bringing together” small and medium sized carriers and shippers in real time, thus helping to reduce downtime and shipping costs.

Ofload has a portfolio of 700 carriers and a fleet of 15000 trucks that loaders can contact with a simple click. According to Maersk, the market has a potential value of 16 billion dollars.
