Two new orders for CMES

Maxi order for Chinese shipyards

by Port News Editorial Staff

CHINA Merchants Energy Shipping has signed a contract with the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry yards for the construction of two VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers).

The maxi order is worth $166.3 million and will enable the dry and liquid division of the giant China Merchants Group to renew its fleet with two 307,000 dwt units equipped with propulsion systems capable of generating more energy and reducing fuel consumption.

In fact, compared to similar models built in 2018, these VLCCs will consume 5/7% less bunkers.
