Norwegian Spirit gets a new look

by Port News Editorial Staff

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that it will invest $100 million to upgrade the Norwegian Spirit, a 267 meter long cruise ship with over 2000 passengers .

The ship, built for Star Cruises as SuperStar Leo at Meyer Werft’s Papenburg plant, went into service in 1998, then, in 2004, passed under the ownership of the Norwegian shipping company, which used it for routes across three continents: Asia, Europe and Africa.

Norwegian Spirit will enter the dry dock at the Chantier Naval de Marseille in Marseille, France, on 2nd January 2020 for an almost 40-day renovation.
