The Alliance: Genoa and La Spezia get ok

by Port News Editorial Staff

No changes for the 2020 programming. In the network of services presented by the shipowners’ consortium The Alliance, Genoa and La Spezia will continue to be the only Italian ports to be called at by the consortium consisting of Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network Express (ONE), Yang Ming  and Hyundai Merchant Marine (joined in July).

The MD1 and MD2 services will continue to call at the two ports

MD1 has the following rotation: Qingdao – Pusan – Shanghai – Ningbo – SPRC – Singapore – Jeddah – (Suez Canal) – Damietta – Barcelona – Valencia – Tangier – Genoa – Damietta – (Suez Canal) – Jeddah – Singapore – SPRC – Qingdao.

Likewise, the MD2 service is almost the same as 2019, with the only difference being that Genoa port will now get one additional call, appearing twice in the expected rotation: Pusan – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Kaohsiung – SPRC – Singapore – (Suez Canal) – Piraeus – Genoa – La Spezia – Fos – Genoa – Piraeus – (Suez Canal) – Singapore – SPRC – Pusan.

The route network will consist of a total of 33 services, with 280 containerships calling at 78 ports.
