Wilhelmsen and MPC join forces

Wilhelmsen Ship Management has acquired 50% of the capital of Ahrenkiel Steamship, a company owned by MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Capital AG (MPC Capital), which is responsible for the technical management of MPC Capital’s containerships.

The newco, christened Wilhelmsen Ahrenkiel Ship Management, will integrate Willhelmsen and MPC Capital’s technical management activities, handling a total fleet of 72 vessels.

The acquisition is currently subject to review by the Antitrust Authority and will be completed during the third quarter.
