ZIM-Navios, increasingly strong ties

The ties between ZIM and Navios Partners are getting stronger and stronger. The Israeli company has chartered 4 more boxships from the Greek group.

This brings the number of boxships that the Israeli company has chartered from the group led by Angeliki Frangou to 13.

The first five of them, all second-hand, 3500 to 4350 TEU capacity vessels, will be delivered between the first and second quarters of the year. There will be used by ZIM for a period of at least 4 years.

The other eight are new 5300 TEU capacity vessels under construction. They will be delivered between the third quarter of 2023 and the last quarter of 2024 They  will be used  along trade routes  between Asia and Africa.

According to ZIM President Eli Glickman, the latest transaction responds to the company’s precise strategy to charter units for very versatile use in their global network.
