New twist in the Red Sea war

Trump, Houthis have surrendered

by Port News Editorial Staff

There has been a breakthrough in the war in the Red Sea. President Donald Trump announced from the Oval Office yesterday that the US would  be ending their bombing raids against the Houthis immediately. “The Houthis have capitulated,” he said, “We will take their word. They say they will not be blowing up ships anymore: and that was the purpose of what we were doing.”

Confirmation of an agreement came from Oman, the traditional mediator in the Middle East, which had been keeping in contact with both sides on this occasion too. “Neither side will target the other, including American vessels,… ensuring freedom of navigation and smooth flow of international commercial shipping,’ the Sultanate said in an official statement.

There is no truce on the horizon between the Houthis and Israel, however
