+4% on last week. The upward trend in the box shipping market is still continuing, with spot rates averaging around $1,822/FEU. This is the third consecutive weekly increase.
Tariffs are rising on all the major routes, both on the transpacific one and the Asia-Europe one, where the general rate increases and FAK rates recently introduced by carriers are pushing prices up.
On the Shanghai–Los Angeles and Shanghai–New York routes, freight rates rose by 6% and 4% respectively, to $2,438 and $3,568 per FEU.
On the Shanghai–Rotterdam and Shanghai–Genoa routes, freight rates were up 3% and 5% respectively, to $1,795 and $1,955 per FEU.
