An international award recognizing training as a strategic lever: The North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority (PNA) has recently been awarded the Areté Prize by Escola Europa.
Accepted by the PNA, as part of ‘Education Beyond Intelligence’ – the international initiative organized by Escola Europea to mark the twentieth anniversary of its foundation – the award celebrates years of partnership projects, reinforcing the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority’s position in international networks dedicated to the development of human capital, and recognising the value of an approach that sees training as a strategic factor in tackling technological change and supporting the competitiveness of the port-logistics system.
The ‘Education Beyond Intelligence’ event, held across Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Palermo and Genoa, brought together representatives from port authorities, universities, research centres, training institutions and businesses from various countries over the past few days. The discussions centred on the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence and digital transformation in training processes and professional development programs.
During the event, the North Tyrrhenian PNA’s Training Department took part in sessions focusing on educational innovation, collaborative leadership and skills development, with particular emphasis on implementing artificial intelligence in port and logistics contexts.
“I believe that the ability to tackle more ambitious challenges together, to envisage new projects and, above all, to turn them into tangible, value-adding initiatives fully reflects what has been developing over the last few years in our relationship with European ports and those in the international arena,” said Claudio Capuano, Head of Training. “It is a partnership that is continuing to grow, opening up new opportunities and reinforcing our conviction that there is still a lot to accomplish together. We are very pleased with the results that have been achieved and, above all, we are looking forward to what the future can offer with great enthusiasm.”
