New Paris-Hong Kong service

CMA CGM’s air service takes off

by Port News Editorial Staff

Just as MSC reveals the imminent departure of its air cargo division, CMA CGM announces that it has launched a new air cargo service between Paris and Hong-Kong this month.

According to specialist magazine The Loadstar, this would give substance to the big carrier’s desire to transfer its hub from Liège airport in Belgium to the French gateway. A choice made obligatory by the need to make the most of the ten-year partnership announced in mid-May with Air France-KML Cargo, which involved the shipping group delegating the entire commercial management of its business to the French national airline.

The service to Hong Kong will operate five times a week. CMA CGM also plans to launch additional services from Paris to other Asian destinations, including Seoul, Shanghai and Bangkok, starting in October.
