New acquisitions on the horizon

CMA eyes up Bolloré Logistics

by Port News Editorial Staff

CMA CGM is apparently interested in acquiring the Bolloré Group’s transport and logistics division. According to Blomberg, there are currently no formal negotiations underway.

Citing anonymous sources, the press agency reports that the shipping company has been studying the operating division of the French holding company as a possible target for some time, assessing the feasibility of a deal.

Bollore Logistics employs over 20,000 employees across at least 100 countries. It handles hundreds of thousands of tonnes of air and ocean freight for companies in sectors ranging from healthcare to food and beverages.

Last year, Bollore agreed to sell its transport and logistics business in Africa to MSC Mediterranean Shipping Co. in a deal worth 5.7 billion euros.
