Changes at the top at the European Shipowners' Association

ECSA appoints its first female President

Dutchwoman Karin Orsel will be the first lady to become president of the European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA). The CEO of vessel managment company MF Shipping Group and former president of  the Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners (KVNR) has taken over the position from Philippos Philis. She will be at the helm of ECSA for the next two years.

Finn Mikki Koskinen (ESL Shipping) has been  appointed Vice President of the European Shipowners’ Association.

Karin Orsel said the Association’s commitment was clear: to promote the energy transition of shipping, to achieve climate targets and to promote the competitiveness of the sector amidst  rapidly changing geopolitical and security challenges.
