On 9th October, the Maya Cosulich was launched at the Taizohou Maple Leaf shipyard. It is the first barge designed to transport and supply methanol as well as traditional bunker fuel.
Designed by SeaTech Solutions International, the Maya Cosulich is an IMO II dual-fuel chemical bunker vessel equipped with diesel-electric propulsion, battery storage systems and two Mass Flow Meters (MFM) for accurate measurement of dispensed quantities. The vessel fully complies with the standards set by the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for methanol bunkering.
Upon its arrival in Singapore by the end of 2025, it will begin operating on a time charter basis with TFG Marine, becoming the first dual-fuel methanol bunker vessel to operate in the Asian port.
