The world's first Arctic route service kicks off

From China to the UK in just 18 days

by Port News Editorial Staff

China launches its China–Europe Express Route, the world’s first east-west service via the Arctic.

The new route was officially inaugurated on 22nd September with the departure of the Istanbul Bridge,  a Neom Holding Liberian -flagged ship, from the Chinese port of Ningbo-Zhoushan.

It will take just 18 days for the boxship to get to Felixstowe, its final destination. The Arctic route effectively reduces the journey by 22 days and CO2 emissions by 50%.
