HMM has placed a new mega order. According to reports from specialist publication Splash247, the South Korean shipping company has commissioned twelve 14,000 TEU dual fuel LNG containerships.
Estimated to cost around $182 million each, the vessels have been partly commissioned to HD Hyundai, which is to build eight of them, and partly to Hanwha Ocean, which will build the remaining four units.
Thanks to these new orders, the Asian carrier’s fleet will cross the one million TEU total capacity threshold for the first time.
