New deal with Airseas

K-Line’s future blowing in the wind

by Port News Editorial Staff

K LINE has signed a contract with Norwegian design firm Airseas for three more giant kites to be installed on three of its  post-panamax bulkers.

The company’s Seawing system harnesses energy from the wind to propel ships and can reduce carbon emissions by over 20%.

In 2019, the Japanese carrier  had signed an initial agreement with Airseas to install these kites on up to 50 of its vessels.
