Livorno PNA celebrates Erasmus Days

Four thematic  initiatives in the Network Authority ports o to celebrate the seventh edition of Erasmus Days, promoted by the EU to highlight Europe’s cultural diversity and the many learning opportunities it offers as part of the EU’s Erasmus+ 2021-2027 programme.

In Capraia, on the 18th and 19th of September, and in the ports of Livorno, Piombino and Portoferraio, on the 6th, 7th and 9th of October, the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority is once again putting a spotlight on the benefits of European mobility and the results the Ports & Skills project produced. This project involved an exchange and training programme focusing on the theme of new port skills and the impact of digitization processes, automation, environmental sustainability and energy transition, promoting training exchange initiatives between project partner ports: in particular, Livorno, Rotterdam, Valencia, Sagunto, Piombino and Venice.

Next Monday, in the port of Capraia, the Port Network Authority (PNA) will inaugurate the school year together with the Livorno Area Educational Dept, Micali Comprehensive school, and in collaboration with INDIRE, the National Institute for Documentation, Innovation & Educational Research.

An opening ceremony will be held for the occasion, attended by the Mayor of Capraia, Lorenzo Renzi, the school world, the team from the PNA’s Training & Promotion Dept., the Maritime Authority and local businesses. the president of Indire, Cristina Grieco, and a representative from the national Erasmus agency,the programme’s funding body.

During the day, a Round Table will be held with companies working in the blue economy sector to discuss the island’s professional expertise, development, promotion and internationalization. The following day, Tuesday 19th September, educational and job guidance activities will be organized, as well as initiatives to promote Capraia’s food and wine traditions.

In the ports of Piombino, Portoferraio and Livorno, on 6th, 7th and 9th  October 2023 respectively, there will be training days dedicated to the development of skills for blue economy professions.
