Livorno showcasing at Fruit Logistica 2026

by Port News Editorial Staff

Once again this year, Livorno’s port cluster stands united at  Berlin’s Fruit Logistica in, one of the most important international fresh fruit & vegetable trade events, which is hosting 2,458 participants from 90 countries this year.

Terminal Darsena Toscana (TDT), with over 900 reefer storage sockets. Terminal Livorno Reefer (LR) owned  by Compagnia Portuale di Livorno), on the industrial canal, covering an area of 11,000m2. Vespucci freight village, which through the company CSC (40% owned by the freight village and the remaining 60% by private investors, consisting of F.lli Colò, DB Group and CTPR Magagnini) manages an efficient centre for chilled and frozen  merchandise and fruit processing.

The fair will not only be attended by individual operators but by a cohesive team that over the years has strengthened the position of the North  Tyrrhenian logistics hub in the cold chain. The credit for this goes to the Livorno Cold Chain initiative led by operators and the Port Network Authority; an organizational model that promotes, among other things, the automatic planning of goods flows in the dockyard, the automation of quay activities and the remote monitoring of checking activities.

The port community is showcasing this strategic asset over the three days in Berlin (from 4th to 6th February). This time it is  presenting an important new development: the launch of a collaboration between CSC and Livorno Reefer for the upcoming, unique temperature-controlled platform dedicated to fruit, vegetables and exotic products.

The process will be completed with LR’s acquisition of a stake in CSC. It responds to the need to further enhance Livorno Cold Chain, so as to offer operators an increasingly integrated, comprehensive, efficient range of services.

The North Tyrrhenian  Port Network Authority and the specific Livorno Cold Chain operators will be hosted at the institutional stand of ICE, the Agency for promoting Italian companies abroad and their internationalization.
