Ocean Network Express (ONE) has just announced it has signed an agreement to acquire a 30% stake in Hutchison Laemchabang Terminal Limited (HLT), a container terminal operator at Laem Chabang in Thailand.
ONE has not disclosed the terms of the deal or whom it acquired the shares from. HLT was, in fact, 70% owned by CK Hutchinson and 30% by COSCO Shipping Ports.
“Our investment in HLT marks a key milestone in our strategy to secure capacity in key gateways globally,” said Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product & Network division. “By deepening our partnership with Hutchison Ports, customers will benefit from enhanced reliability and efficient solutions within this essential trade hub,” he added.
