The Senate Finance Committee has approved Amendment 8.16 to the Fiscal Decree, which allocates €92 million for the construction of Piombino Port’s north quay
The text (amendment 8.16, tabled by Orsomaro, Melchiorre, Maffoni and Petrucci) highlights that the funds are earmarked for the port’s commercial and industrial redevelopment and for safeguarding jobs. €30 million will be allocated for 2027, whilst the remaining €62 million will be disbursed in 2028.
It’s a major political achievement, to the great satisfaction of Davide Gariglio, President of the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority: “We would like to express our deep gratitude to the Government, and in particular to the Minister for Industry, for having allocated the necessary resources for a strategic project for the development of the regional area,” he said. “Our sincere thanks also goes to the parliamentary groups that proposed and supported this measure,” he concluded.
