Italian port assocation warning

Political instability worries us

by Port News Editorial Staff

“The political instability scenario worries us because it comes at a time of great uncertainty worldwide, jeopardizing the relaunching of our ports, with the NRRP (National Recovery & Resilience Plan)  funding  at risk,” began the President of the Association of Italian Ports, Rodolfo Giampieri, in relation to what is happening in the Italian government.

“We have discussed the issue with all the Port Network Authority presidents. We believe that the uncertainty could slow down procedures and activities necessary for the port industry in terms of competitiveness and development, also in view of the upcoming deadlines for projects included in the NRRP. This setback would be detrimental to any government in office, and that is why we hope that this can be avoided.”
