First call for luxury cruise ship

Portoferraio welcomes the Silver Dawn

Portoferraio is the Silver Dawn’s  first port of call . This morning, Silversea cruise line’s luxury cruise ship , launched in 2017 from  Italian Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard, berthed at the Molo Alto Fondale pier, where she will remain  until nine o’clock tonight.

The vessel is 218 meters long. Its gross tonnage is almost 41,000 tonnes. With  298 all-suite cabins, the Silver Dawn can accommodate around 235 passengers.

For its first island stop, a guided tour has been organized aboard buses provided by local tourist agencies.

“We are honored to have been chosen by Silversea for its Mediterranean tours,” said Port Network Authority president, Luciano Guerrieri. “The Silver Dawn‘s port of call is confirmation that the Tuscan network has become increasingly appealing  for the cruise market.”
