In recognition for her career and, in particular, for the results she has achieved  in the process of setting up one of the most impressive port infrastructures in Italy, the Darsena Europa, a seaward expansion facility which the port of Livorno aims to reach new important traffic targets with.

Roberta Macii, managing director  of the Lazio port network up to 2020, and currently senior executive at the North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority and Darsena Europa deputy commissioner, was awarded the ‘Port Oscar 2023’ in Miami. She received it for her 23 years’ work in the port sector and for having allocated, over the last few years, over one billion euros in contracts for public infrastructures which have been successfully completed.

The contest, which promotes and highlights managerial excellence worldwide, is now in its seventh edition. It was sponsored by the Cibor Port TV station, in a format that focuses on Italy’s maritime and port environment.

“The awarding of the prize to Roberta fills us with pride,” said Port Network Authority  president, Luciano Guerrieri, “not only because the work carried out so far by one of our most valid senior executives at  the Port Authority is rightly rewarded, but also because, in this way, the contribution women, among others, give to the port industry is finally being honoured. This is certainly an important acknowledgement for a sector, the maritime-port sector, that still has a long way to go before finally overcoming the gender gap.”

Roberta Macii was delighted: “I thank the organizers of the contest for the prize I received but, above all, I would like to thank the President of the Port Network Authority, Luciano Guerrieri who gave me the opportunity to take on this role.
