Scorpio Tankers announced that it has reached an agreement for the sale of its MR STI Maestro, a product carrier built in 2020, equipped with scrubbers.
The final price is expected to be around $42 million. The buyer is unknown. However, it is certain that the transaction will be completed in the fourth quarter.
The Scorpio Tankers fleet consists of 99 vessels, including 14 handimax vessels built between 2014 and 2015, 47 medium range vessels built between 2014 and 2020, and 34 LR2 vessels built between 2014 and 2019. The average age of the fleet controlled by the Lauro-based company is currently 9.5 years.
The company acquired STI Maestro in 2023 as part of an agreement to purchase five ships from a Chinese shipowner.
