1,055 vessels crossed the Canal, +0.8%

Suez Canal crossings back up in July

Traffic through Suez is up again after a downturn lasting months. Last July, 1,055 vessels crossed the Canal, 0.8% more than the 1,047 in July 2024.

In particular, the number of tanker transits rose by 5.4% on an annual basis. On the contrary, transits involving all other types of traffic fell. In fact, 624 vessels crossed the sea route during the month under review, representing a drop of 2.2% on an annual basis.

Between January and July, 7,110 vessels crossed the Canal, i.e. -10.2% compared to the same period in 2024. There were 2,799 tankers (-4.5%) and 4,311 other types of vessels (-13.6%).
