The Stena Immaculate, the tanker that was involved in a collision with a containership in the North Sea in March 2025, has been sold.
The Swedish owner of the ship, Stena Bulk, has confirmed the sale. It said that the buyer, whose name has not been disclosed, will have it repaired at the Desan shipyard in Turkey
The tanker caught fire following the collision while anchored off the Humber estuary. It sustained serious damage to its hull and cargo tanks. At the time of the accident, it was carrying jet fuel for the US military.
After being salvaged, the vessel was towed to Great Yarmouth’s outer harbour to be inspected by insurance surveyors before being transferred to Malta.
