There has been a change at the top of the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA), the global organization that promotes their participation, professional development and leadership in the maritime, commercial and logistics sectors.
WISTA elected Celine Mortier as their new president at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). She is managing director of the Belgian maritime navigation services provider Bogerd Martin.
The manager succeeds Elpi Petraki, who has been at the helm of the organization for four years.
“I am delighted to take on the role of President of WISTA International at a time of continued growth for our global network and undertake to work with purpose to advance WISTA’s mission and impact,” said Mortier.
During the AGM, four new national associations were admitted, representing the Bahamas, Egypt, Montenegro and the Philippines, bringing the WISTA network to 64 national associations and over 6,500 members worldwide.
