Container shipping rates were down 3% this week, to an average of $2192/ FEU, 79% below the $10377/FEU pandemic peak.
Shanghai – New York (-7%, to $3706/FEU) and Shanghai – Los Angeles (-5%, to $2683/FEU) rates recorded the biggest downturns.
Shanghai – Rotterdam and Shanghai – Genoa tariffs were both down -2% to $2344 and $3018 per FEU respectively.
New York – Rotterdam and Rotterdam – New York, however, lost just one percentage point compared to last week, standing at $817 and $2129 per FEU respectively.
Instead, Rotterdam – Shanghai freight rates were up 4% to $493/FEU. Los Angeles – Shanghai tariffs remained stable.
