Containment basin consolidation testing commissioned

Darsena Europa, a step closer

by Port News Editorial Staff

A new step closer towards the completion of the Darsena Europa. Over the last few days, the commissioning body  in charge of the implementation of the seaward expansion project in Livorno authorized the completion of the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a call for tenders for commissioning  the construction of testing areas  for verifying the consolidation of the first containment basin, designed to become the new “Container Terminal” envisaged in the Port Masterplan

The contract, worth 3.3 million euros, will last 300 days.  It will be awarded to the temporary joint venture set up by Società Italiana Dragaggi S.p.A./Fincantieri Infrastructure Opere Marittime S.p.A./Sales S.p.A./Fincosit S.r.l, with which, in March 2022,  the Port Network Authority  signed the contract for the maritime defense works and dredging operations foreseen  in the new first implementation phase of the Piattaforma Europa facility.

The cost  is to be covered by the funding  available in the Economic Framework of the Simplified Final Project.
