1100 cars at Faldo car storage facility

Dongfeng comes to Livorno

by Port News Editorial Staff

Yesterday, 1,100 Dongfeng vehicles were unloaded at Darsena Toscana’s east bank. Dongfeng is one of Bejing’s “Big Four” car manufacturers.

CILP coordinated the unloading and handling operations from the quayside. The vehicles were then tranfered to the Faldo storage compound, one of Europe’s largest car logistics facilities, equipped with its own rail links and a full range of services, under Xca management since May 2025.

“We chose Faldo for its service potential,” said Tommaso Conti, Xca senior executive and Faldo operations manager. “We are extremely pleased to have brought this infrastructure back to the forefront of port logistics for the automotive industry, proposing it as a reference point for international traffic arriving from the Far East. Livorno is the main port for car imports, handling around 630,000 vehicles, and we have 55 years of experience in managing car imports and exports. I remember back in 1970 when my grandfather started exporting Peugeot cars manufactured in France to North African countries.”
