Piombino’s Molo Batteria pier back to life

by Port News Editorial Staff

The company Consorzio Stabile EOS has just been awarded a contract for the second phase of the renovation of the outer wall of the Molo Batteria pier with natural boulders in the Port of Piombino.

The project, which will cost 3.1 million euros, with a 10.2% discount on the basic tender amount, will cover the remaining 320 metres of the pier and aims to limit the possibility of waves overflowing.

The first phase of the project was tested in April 2020. The work, carried out by Geoconsult Costruzioni at a cost of 1.5 million euros, was completed in February and involved the first 440 metres of the breakwater.
