2022, a year to remember for Daewoo Shipbuilding

Record orders for Korean shipyard

2022 will be a year to remember for DAEWOO Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. Between January and September, the Korean shipbuilding giant has secured  orders for the construction of no less than 141 new vessels, worth a total  of 9.39 billion dollars.

With the year not yet over, the shipbuilding company has already reached the targets it had set itself for 2022, well over its 8.9 billion dollar order book target.

Of the 141 vessels on order, 117 are commercial ships. These include 58 LNG carriers, 36 container ships, 14 tankers and 10 LPG carriers.

Recently, the Korean shipyard secured orders for 34 LNG Carriers, six container ships and one RFSU.
