Reliability down in October

The overall reliability (in terms of punctuality) of containerships fell to 61.4% in October, down 3.7% on the previous month, according to  Sea Intelligence’s report.

On an annual basis, the overall reliability of scheduled services remains 9.9% higher.

Among the top global carriers, only Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd and MSC outperformed the global average.

In terms of shipping partnerships, the Gemini alliance (comprising Hapag Lloyd and Maersk) was found to be the most punctual, closing the month under review with an 88.6%. punctuality .The percentage is calculated by adding up all ship arrivals, both at ports of destination and ports of origin.

The Hapag Lloyd- Maersk alliance  was thefore just 1.4% behind its 90% target.
