New features for Livorno PNA’s IT system

TPCS upgrade contract awarded

by Port News Editorial Staff

The contract to upgrade the Tuscan Port Community System (TPCS), the port of Livorno’s interoperable digital platform that allows public and private operators to interface, to improve the efficiency and sustainability of goods transport and logistics, has been awarded to DBA & Data Ch Technologies’ temporary business partnership.

The partnership will be responsible for the  analysis, design, development, and testing of new upgrades on the TPCS platform that manages vessel voyages  and goods arriving at the Port of Livorno.

Enhancing the TPCS includes updating its Istat module, its port tax calculation module and its vessel & goods statistics, extending its booking  management system to non-containerized goods, and developing its vessel voyage management so it can  interface with the Harbour Authority PMIS2 system and the IMO ship register.

The operation foresees an investment of over €500,000 for application development activities lasting one year.

The Tuscan Port Community System is already a benchmark model at national level. Through the stipulation of specific agreements, Livorno & Piombino ports’ collaborative IT system has been made available to three other Port Network Authorities, namely Sardinian Port Network Authority, Central Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority (Naples) and the Northern Adriatic Port Network Authority (Venice).
