Cosco has completed what it claims to be the world’s first eco-friendly ammonia bunkering operation. It was conducted by its subsidiary Sinobunker at a Cosco Heavy Industry terminal in Dalian on July25th. The green ammonia used for refuelling was produced entirely from renewable electricity, certified by Bureau Veritas.
“This zero-carbon green ammonia bunkering operation is more than just an industry breakthrough, but also a transformational leap for China’s shipping sector to achieve the nation’s carbon neutrality and carbon peaking goals”, says the Chinese giant.
