by Port News Editorial Staff

The Rotterdam, a new ship built for Holland America Line, a division of Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s leading cruise operator, has been delivered at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard.

The ship is the fourteenth vessel to be built by the Marghera shipyard for Holland America Line. It is the sistership of the Koningsdam and the Nieuw Statendam; “Pinnacle” class ships delivered in 2016 and 2018 respectively by the Fincantieri shipyard.

The Rotterdam has a gross tonnage of approximately 99,800 tonnes, a length of almost 300 metres and will be able to accommodate 2,668 passengers in 1,340 cabins.

The ship has been designed to optimize energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact, while complying with the most stringent safety regulations currently in force.
